The project Self Improvement is a critical analysis based on observation of our consumer oriented society and the impact those constraints have. Questioning what genetic, biological and environmental factors influence our definition of our self?
This project is a personal reflection challenging my notion of self by consulting specialists of body, mind and spirit. Out of the comfort zone, I used myself to test out experiments and to experience potential research which are dealing with the idealisation of perfection lead by socio-cultural pressure.
The research lead to objects embodying the self, visual works and documentation showing the reaction of experts of different fields explaining how I could potentially “improve”.
Re-producing of objects embodying the self. Objects has been strongly fixed on historical landmarks Hyde Park and Thames bridges.
Documentation showing the reaction of experts of different fields explaining how I could potentially “improve” and the process of self monitoring.
